'Space Jam 2' Finds Writer and Director
I Believe I Can Fly...Again? Shortly after his acting debut in last year's hit comedy Trainwreck, LeBron James signed a deal with Warner Brothers to partner for his Springhill Entertainment production company, a partnership that further fueled rumours that the NBA superstar was set to star in a sequel to Space Jam. Today, The Hollywood Reporter disclosed exclusive information surrounding the highly speculated animated sports sequel. According to their reports, Justin Lin, director of 4 out of the 7 Fast and Furious films, is set to direct the film while Andrew Dodge will be penning the script. To date Dodge's only released credit to his name is writing the Jason Bateman-directed film, Bad Words, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013 to mixed reviews. Dodge has also written the upcoming Peter Dinklage leprechaun film, O'Lucky Day and was recently tapped to adapt popular YouTube series Action Movie Kid for Fox 2000.
While IMDb lists the film as a 2017 release, nothing has been confirmed thus far. Could Space Jam 2 be just as good as the original? Could it top its bangin' soundtrack? Or the Bill Murray cameo? Guess we'll just have to wait and see...
