Rita Ora Officially Signs to Atlantic Records
After a number of failed single launches, a lack of a North American fanbase and what she felt was an insufficient amount of support from her label, UK singer Rita Ora had enough the Jay Z-owned Roc Nation, resulting in her suing the company and demanding a release from her contract. Flash forward six months. An out of court settlement between Ora and Roc Nation was ultimately achieved, allowing Ora to find a new home for her future music. Earlier this month, it had been reported that Rita had inked a deal with Warner Music, although a subsidiary label remained unknown.
Earlier today via an excited Instagram post, Rita Ora officially announced her signing to Atlantic Records, for both her North American and overseas releases.
While Ora's second studio album is reportedly nearing completion, the singer will also reprise her role as Mia Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, Fifty Shades Darker. Although she may be off Roc Nation, it appears that no love is lost, with Rita posing with Beyonce on Snapchat at last month's Met Gala, calling Queen Bey "Family".
