Montreal is Throwing a "Big Shiny Tunes 2" Party Because Why Not?

1997 was a weird time for music. Although it was a peak time for prolific artists such as Marilyn Manson and Blur, it was also a great time for now regrettably popular names like Sugar Ray (ugh) and Smash Mouth (uuuugh). Amid this musical tidal wave was one mighty compilation album that captured all the madness: the MuchMusic released Big Shiny Tunes 2. big shiny

Flash forward to present day. The album is of Diamond status in Canada, having sold over 1 million copies. It's even the third best selling album in Canada of all time.

Saturday, Concordia University radio station CJLO will be hosting a Big Shiny Tunes 2 fundraiser party.  Held at Bar Le Ritz PDB, the event will feature local Montreal acts covering the compilation album in its entirety. Here is your chance to relive the glory days of 1997, only with new and improved bands performing all the hits!
