The Internet Announce New Album; Solo Projects
It's been a while since we've heard from The Internet. Following Ego Death, their Grammy-Nominated, third studio album, the band embarked on a lengthy tour, then faded off into the darkness. Today, The Fader revealed the dual covers for its 106th issues, the first featuring tennis star Serena Williams, the second The Internet. The magazine also released the respective stories written for the two covers, with The Internet's detailing some exciting news about the band's future.
In Spring 2017, the band will release their fourth album, for which they will start to write and record later this month. If this seems like too long a wait for you, you're in luck.
Members Syd (aka Syd tha Kid of Odd Future) and Matt Martians will both release solo projects later this autumn. While Matt's remains untitled, which he describes as "Very weird and wonky", Syd's will be titled Dive. Dive is set to feature the likes of Hit-Boy and MeLo-X on the production side of things, and will sonically be inspired by early 2000s Pop hits that the singer grew up on, such as Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys. Other group members are expected to help with the writing on both projects, and are in the early stages of crafting their own solo work.
