GovBall to Reveal 2016 Lineup on Friday
With rumors of Coachella organizers AEG Live reportedly looking to create a new music festival in NYC, not to mention the amazing lineup Coachella has already delivered for the beloved Palm Springs festival, a lot will be riding on The Governors Ball to provide a festival of epic proportions with their 2016 edition. For those bubbling with anticipation, the wait is almost over. A few hours ago, GovBall announced that the festival's lineup would be released this Friday at noon, along with tickets going on sale at the same time:
Having featured the likes of Drake, The Black Keys, Lana Del Rey and many more in 2015, is it possible for the festival to outdo themselves this year? A quick browse of the festival's Twitter is leading people to believe the answer to that is most likely a yes. In November, the festival created a "GovBall Crossword Puzzle" and has since been dropping hints in photo form on Twitter to allow its many clever fans to figure out a few of the names playing thisnyear:
While their have been no definite confirmations, it is definitely easy to speculate a few of the more obvious ones:
"The Mother We Share" = CHVRCHES? (We'd actually be pretty stoked to see a Kris Jenner DJ set if that's the case though.)
"I Love You, Honeybear" = Father John Misty?
Signature Suspenders = Albert Hammond Jr.? (However, if Jesse Eisenberg is debuting his new Metalcore band, we'll take it!)
Other speculated names include Big Grams, the trio consisting of Big Boi and Phantogram (GovBall tweet from and gave away tickets to their NYC debut) and the newly reunited LCD Soundsystem, who are embarking on a long anticipated reunion tour this year.
