George Michael Passes Away at Age 53
A publicist for singer George Michael has confirmed that the singer peacefully passed away at his residence earlier today. Michael, real name Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, sold over 80 million records through his solo career alone, along with an additional 25 million through his involvement with Wham! BBC News reports that "no suspicious circumstances" are surrounding the death, although it should be noted that the singer has had a rocky relationship with drugs, and suffered from pneumonia in October 2011.
His final album, Symphonica, was released in 2014. A documentary centred around Michael's iconic sophomore album, Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1, is set for release in March 2017. At this time, it is unclear whether the Wham! star's deal will result in any change of plans in its date of release.
