G-Eazy Recieves 2 Gold Album Certifications


"From the Bay to the Universe" indeed! At the beginning of this month, The Recording Industry Association of America revealed that it would counting streaming when awarding albums with Gold and Platinum certifications. This updated inclusion has resulted in a plethora of now-certified albums, including The Weeknd, Big Sean, Hozier and many others. The change in rules has worked in favor for many artists, including our boy, G-Eazy. Today, the rapper revealed that he now has not one, but two Gold albums for his two most recent bodies of work:


While the new tallying method is certainly resulting in many more Gold and Platinum certifications, not everybody seems happy with the idea. Recently, TDE label head Top Dawg bashed the idea, believing these honors should be earned solely through album sales.
