First Trailer For Rocky Spinoff "Creed" Released

Are boxing movies coming back stronger than ever in 2015? By the looks of it, they sure are. With Southpaw, Bleed For This and Hands of Stone all stated for release later this year, it seems as if the genre has returned in full form. Amongst all of these films, there is one that seems to stand out in particular. Creed follows the story of Adonis Creed, an upcoming boxer and son of the legend Apollo. In the film, Adonis seeks the training help of Rocky Balboa, a friend and past rival to his late father.

The film stars Michael B. Jordan and is directed by Ryan Coogler. The two previously worked together on Fruitvale Station, which was widely regarded as one of 2013's best films.

Today, the debut trailer for Creed was released, and we can assure you that the Rocky nostalgia is quite high in this one:

Will Creed be able to live up to the legacy of the Rocky franchise? Does it have the potential to be the year's best boxing film? Decide for yourself when Creed hits theatres November 25th.
