David Byrne Expected to Play Osheaga
As festival lineups begin to be revealed, rumours are heating up for Montreal's beloved Osheaga Music And Arts Festival. The festival has already taken to Twitter to debunk theories of Eminem headlining, citing his busy schedule as a the reason he was unable to.
However, a new prospect has come forward that is sure to turn some heads, Talking Heads, that is! That's right, the "Psycho Killer" himself David Byrne has a free date during Osheaga weekend, right in between shows in Toronto, ON and Canandaigua, NY. Earlier this week, Byrne announced an extensive world tour in support of his forthcoming American Utopia album, with Montreal noticeably absent.
Byrne's last appearance in the city was in 2016, playing alongside Arcade Fire at their Kanaval Kanpe charity show (read our review here). He also headlined POP Montreal in 2012 with St. Vincent, where the pair played songs off of their Love This Giant collaborative LP in an intimate church setting.
