It’s been 8 long years since the last time the Clipse dropped an album. In that time, Pusha T has become a solo star in his own right, with Malice (now No Malice) converting to Christianity and staying more low key.
However a 2016 interview, No Malice hinted at a reunion, stating the following of its potential:
“I’ma tell you that I learned to never say never, and I don’t shut the door on anything. I really don’t. In fact, I would like to see Clipse do it…I’ve said it before, my brother and I would definitely make clown soup out of all these MCs. Now that much I know”
Earlier today, a Reddit user named clipseyclipse2 shared multiple snippets of what appear to be new music from Clipse. The user claims said snippets are to be featured on an upcoming Clipse album, which could be dropping as early as next week.
The first song sees Pusha T over a lush beat rapping lyrics about (you guessed it) selling blow. An additional snippet of the same song finds No Malice name-dropping Lil Wayne.
The second preview bares a darker instrumental, with No Malice rhyming praise to the lord. The third track features none other than DMX, on what the Reddit user claims is a posse cut featuring the likes of Kanye West, Father, Pharrell, and many more.
While this news is exciting, it should be taken with a grain of salt. A Reddit thread is nowhere near a reliable source. Lord Willin’, we see a new Clipse album this year. If not, there’s always Pusha’s solid solo career to look forward to.
