Gucci Mane has been keeping it consistent since his release from prison this May. Aside from dropping Everybody Looking, one of the best albums in the rapper’s catalog, LaFlare has also guested on a number of stellar collaborations, including DJ Khaled’s “Work For It”, Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles”, and perhaps most notably, Kanye West’s “Champions”.
Today on Snapchat, Gucci Mane revealed that he had recently turned in 8 guest verses to some very exciting artists. Among the names were Lil Wayne, Diplo, 2 Chainz, and most notably, OutKast:
#GUCCIMANE DID 8 FEATURES TODAY!!! 8 FEATURES!!! INCLUDING #QUAVO, #2CHAINZ, #LILBOOSIE, #E40 #PROJECTPAT #DIPLO AND #OUTKAST!!! AS IF THIS NEWS WASNT EXCITING ENOUGHHHH HE DID A FEATURE FOR #LILWAYNE WHICH MEANS #LILWEEZY IS STILL ACTIVELY MAKING MUSIC 🤗🤗 . . . . . .#LILTUNECHI #CASHMONEYRECORDS #CASHMONEY #YOUNGMONEY #YMCM #TUNECHI #WEEZY #GUCCI #GUWOP #WIZOP #WOPTOBER #TRAP #REALHIPHOP #REALRAP #BRICKSQUAD #HOTINHIPHOP #HIPHOPNEWS #FREELILWAYNE #C5 #FREEC5
This should come as a surprise to many, as the Big Boi and Andre 3000 have not collaborated since 2010’s “Lookin’ 4 Ya”, a song recorded during the sessions of Big Boi’s solo debut, Sir Luscious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty, a song that winded up left off the album due to a restriction made by Big Boi’s former record label, Jive, after he left the label for Def Jam. However, Gucci appears on said album, on a song titled “Shine Blockas“.
Big Boi and Gucci Mane have a couple of other collaborations as well, “She Got a Friend“, and the remix of Mariah Carey’s “H.A.T.E.U.”, both of which were released in 2009.
Could this be a wording mistake, with Gucci actually recording a verse for Big Boi’s upcoming solo album, or is a new OutKast record on the way? An onstage reunion is set to take place in Atlanta alongside the rest of the Dungeon Family later this month, as confirmed by Cee-Lo Green during a recent radio interview. Perhaps the answer to this boiling question will unfold at the event…
