Ever since his proper introduction to the rap world on Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Hip-Hop have been long anticipating the debut album of G.O.O.D. Music signee Cyhi the Prynce. Nearly seven years after stepping onto the scene, it seems as if Cyhi’s time has finally come.
Earlier today, Cyhi the Prynce appeared on Shade 45’s Sway in the Morning radio show to debut “Legend”. The song serves as the first single to No Dope On Sunday, the rapper’s first LP, set for a tentative release of spring or summer.
Unlike other G.O.O.D Music first singles, such as Pusha T’s “Circles“, or Big Sean’s “Bounce Back“, “Legend” is a hard-hitting, lyrically abundant track that is far from radio-friendly. However, it stays true to the rapper’s core, maintaining clever punchlines while carefully illustrating a story:
After a number of pushbacks and tribulations, it seems as if Cyhi the Prynce is finally on the right track to deliver “No Dope on Sunday” to his many eager fans.
